Dusan Stanojevic, Ph.D. Chief Scientific Officer
As a graduate student at Columbia University Dr. Stanojevic has been involved in one of the first successful efforts to
uncover the mechanism of genetic "switches" controlling pattern formation during Drosophila embryonic development. During
postdoctoral research at Harvard University, Dr. Stanojevic approached the same problem from the chemical perspective while
developing a novel method for studying and selection of synthetic DNA-binding molecules. This combination of biological and
chemical expertise subsequently led to the development of Artificial Transcription Factors and founding of Crosslink Genetics
Corp.
Richard A. Young, Ph.D. Professor of Biology, MIT.
Dr. Young is a Chairman of Crosslink's Scientific Advisory Board. One of the world's leading scientists in the fields
of transcriptional regulation and genomics, Dr. Young has created what is now the widely accepted paradigm for the mechanism
of transcriptional regulation of eukaryotic genes. Dr. Young's laboratory is currently spearheading the effort to construct
the first maps of the eukaryotic gene interaction circuitry. Dr. Young is also the principal inventor on numerous patents
in molecular biology and bioinformatics.
Richard Hoffman, J.D., M.B.A. Business Manager.
Mr. Hoffman is an executive and entrepreneur in the biotechnology and health care industries. He is a co-founder of TargetRx,
Inc. and Keel Pharmaceuticals, and a business development consultant for Abgenix, Inc. and Surface Logix, Inc. Prior to his
work in venture initiation and consulting, Mr. Hoffman served as a Vice President of Finance and Business Development at Avitech
Diagnostics, Inc. and Hybridon, Inc. and a junior partner at the law firm of Hale and Dorr. Mr. Hoffman holds a J. D. from
Columbia University and M.B.A. from Wharton School of Business.
Ivan Trifunovich, Ph.D., M.B.A. Senior Vice President and General Manager, Third Wave Technologies.
Dr. Trifunovich has held a number of marketing and R & D positions of increased responsibility within large pharmaceutical
companies, including Vice President, Research Strategy and Operations at Pharmacia & Upjohn, Marketing Director, Oncology
at Johnson & Johnson, and Assistant to the President at Bristol-Myers Squibb. Dr. Trifunovich holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry
from University of California, Los Angeles and M.B.A. from Wharton School of Business.
Pat N. Confalone, Ph.D. Vice President, Global R & D, Dupont.
Dr. Confalone has over 30 years experience in Pharmaceutical R&D at both Hoffmann-La Roche and Dupont Pharmaceuticals.
He has directed both Medicinal Chemistry and Chemical Process R&D departments and led chemical development teams for
the anti-hypertensive drug Cozaar and the HIV drug Sustiva, among others. Dr. Confalone has over 130 publications and 40
patents, has lectured extensively worldwide, and was elected a fellow of the AAAS in 2001. Dr. Confalone has received a B.S.
degree from MIT and Ph.D. from Harvard, where he studied in the laboratory of Professor Robert B. Woodward.
